The Casambi Room app is built on a simple premise: configuring a Casambi system should be straightforward, intuitive, and accessible to any installer—no prior Casambi knowledge required. By prioritizing guided workflows and including only essential commissioning features, the app eliminates the typical learning curve of advanced lighting controls.

Casambi Room is a focused commissioning tool designed specifically for electricians and electrical contractors handling room-based lighting projects. Rather than serving as an end-user control interface, it concentrates solely on on-site setup, making professional lighting commissioning faster, simpler, and more accessible.

Designed to mirror a typical trade workflow, the app guides users through every stage of deployment:

  • Creating and organizing projects

  • Pairing luminaires, occupancy sensors, and switches and adding default dimming scenes

  • Setting up basic lighting behaviors and automation

  • Verifying and testing the installation

What Casambi Room is not?

The Casambi Room app is not intended as an end-user control application. It is a configuration tool for professionals commissioning simple, room-based lighting projects who do not require complex configurations or have prior Casambi experience.

What features does Casambi Room have?

Casambi Room provides the essential features needed to set up room-based lighting installations through an intuitive workflow—no prior Casambi experience required.

Features in the initial Casambi Room Beta include:

  • Project & room organization: Create projects containing multiple rooms (each room functions as an independent Casambi BLE network).
  • Guided room creation wizard: Walk step-by-step through setting up a room with luminaires, switches, and occupancy sensors, with optional default scenes that configure controllers automatically.
  • Device management: Pair, remove, and rename Casambi Ready luminaires, drivers, and controllers.
  • Control hardware support: Add and manage both mains-powered and battery-free/kinetic switches and occupancy sensors.
  • Commissioning control: Control and adjust devices directly in the app to test the physical installation on-site.
  • Scene configuration: Create, adjust, and trigger lighting scenes.
    • Set a single dimming level for all luminaires, or define custom levels per luminaire.
    • All luminaires in the room participate in every scene.
  • Seamless export: Transfer rooms to the standard Casambi App whenever advanced configuration or site requirements demand it.

Additional features will be introduced in future updates based on installer feedback and field requirements.

When should I use Casambi Room instead of the Casambi App?

  • When the installation does not require complex controls or advanced logic.
  • When you or your team have no prior Casambi experience and want an intuitive, guided setup.
What should I do if I need features missing from Casambi Room?

If your room setup requires advanced functionality beyond Casambi Room, you can transfer your rooms directly to the standard Casambi App.

Note: The transfer is strictly one-way. Once a room is exported to the Casambi App, it can no longer be edited or accessed in Casambi Room.
